In the Name of God Amen
I Timothy Cockshutt of London Gentleman do make and publish
This my last Will and Testament in manner following first I 
recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God my Creator
and my Body I commit to the Earth to be decently interred at
the discretion of my Executors hereinafter named And as to such
worldly Estate as it hath or shall please God to bless me with
at the time of my decease I dispose thereof as follows(viz.)I 
give and bequeath to Daniel Danvers of the City of Bath - -
Gentleman John Danvers of London hosier and Thomas Smalwood
of the South Sea House Gentleman and to the survivors and –
survivor of them and the Executors and Administrators of such
survivor three thousand pounds Bank Stock now standing in my
name in the Books of the Governor and Company of the Bank
of England Upon this special Trust and confidence that they the
said Daniel Danvers John Danvers and Thomas Smallwood and
the Survivors and Survivor of them his Executors and Administrators
do pay out of the Dividends Interest and produce thereof unto my
beloved Wife Sarah Cockshutt and her Assigns during her –
natural life the clear Annuity or yearly Sum of one hundred and
twenty pounds by equal half yearly payments the first of the 
said payments to begin and be made on the first usual day for
payment of the half yearly Dividends on Bank Stock that
shall happen next after my death I also give to my said wife
all my household linen and the furniture of her Bed Chamber
and all such my plate as hath her crest on it and one hundred
pounds in Money to be paid her immediately after my decease
for her present support And I do hereby declare that this –
provision hereinbefore made for my said Wife is in full for what
she may or can claim for her Dower of thirds or upon any
other account out of my real and personal Estate or any part
thereof Item I give and bequeath unto Catherine Aspinwall
Spinster Daughter of my late Uncle Richard Aspinwall of
Spring Gardens Charing Cross the sum of one thousand pounds

To Mr. Prince and his Wife the Daughter of my said late Uncle
Richard Aspinwall twenty pounds a piece for Mourning To my
Cousin Frances Southby Widow of Captain Southby two hundred
pounds To my Aunt Anyon of Poulton in Lancashire fifty pounds
To my Cousins Jane and Frances Wormisham of Liverpool –
Spinsters fifty pounds a piece To my Cousin Margaret Eastam
Widow fifty pounds To my Cousin Thomas Aspinwall fifty pounds
To my Cousin Stanhope Aspinwall five hundred pounds to Doctor
Angier of Liverpool ten Guineas for Mourning To my friend
the Reverend Mr Thomas Cockshutt of Retford in Nottinghamshire
ten Guineas for Mourning To the said Daniel Danvers John –
Danvers and Thomas Smalwood my three Trustees for the said
three thousand pounds Bank Stock fifty pounds a piece To
Captain Samuel Poi er of London and Nathaniel Basnet of 
Walthamstow ten Guineas a piece for Mourning to Anorgan
Morse of Queen Street London Gentleman ten Guineas for 
Mourning To Thomas Meares of Liverpool ten Guineas for
<mourning To my Cousins Timothy Anyon and Thomas Carter
fifty pounds a piece Item to William Bowden Esquire Treasurer
of St. Thomas’s Hospital and to the Infirmary at Liverpool
fifty pounds And I order and desire my Executors after named
to give and distribute forty or fifty Gold Rings of the value of 
One Guinea each to as many of my friends and acquaintance
Item I give to each and every of my servants that shall be
living with me at the time of my decease and shall have lived
in my Service one year or upwards and under two years next 
before my death one years wages and to each of my Servants
who shall at the time of such my decease be living with me
and shall have so lived two years or upwards and less than 
three years next before my death the sum of ten pounds and
to each of my Servants who shall at the time of my decease
be so living and shall have lived in my Service three years
or upwards next before my decease the sum of twenty pounds
Item I give and devise unto my two Cousins Thomas Cockshutt
Twisleton of Quorndon near Loughborough in the County of 
Leicester clerk and Josiah Cockshutt of Christ College Cambridge
the two Sons of my late Cousin Josiah Cockshutt late Rector of
Kegworth in the said County of Leicester deceased all my
Messuages Lands Tenements and Hereditaments and all my
Parts and Shares of any Messuages Lands Tenements and
Hereditaments both freehold and Copyhold and all other my
real Estate whatsoever and wheresoever to hold to them their
Heirs and Assigns for ever as Tenants in Common and not as
Joint Tenants And Lastly I give and bequeath all the rest
and residue of my Estate of what nature kind or quality soever
the same is or may be at the time of my death after –
payment of the several Legacies aforesaid and my just Debts
and Funeral Expenses together with the said three thousand
pounds Bank Stock after the Death of my said Wife Sarah
Cockshutt and the Surplus of the Interest or Dividends thereof

over and above the said Annuity of one hundred and twenty
pounds a year so given to her as aforesaid unto my said two 
cousins the said Thomas Cockshutt Twisleton and Josiah –
Cockshutt their Executors Administrators and Assigns to and for
their own use and benefit equally to be divided between them share
and share alike And I make ordain constitute and appoint my
said two Cousins Thomas Cockshutt Twisleton and Josiah Cockshutt
Joint Executors of this my Will and do hereby revoke annul
and make void all former and other Will or Wills by me at any
time heretofore made and do declare this only to be and contain
my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I the said
Testator Timothy Cockshutt have to this my last Will and 
Testament contained in two sheets of Paper set my hand and
seal (that is to say) my hand to the first of the said sheets and 
my hand and seal to the second sheet thereof this seventh day
of February in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven –
hundred and sixty four Tim Cockshutt (TS)/- Signed sealed published
and declared by the said Testator as and for his last Will and
Testament in the presence of us who in his presence and at
his request and also in the presence of each other have hereunto 
subscribed our names as witnesses Hen.y Brooks in Princes Street

I the within named Timothy Cockshutt do make
and publish this present codicil which I order and direct shall
be taken as and for part of my within written last Will and 
Testament and which said Will as to all and every of the noes
Limitations Trusts Gifts Conditions Legacies Bequests Directions
and Appointments therein mentioned devised given and contained 
of and concerning my real and personal Estate therein mentioned
I do by this my Codicil ratify and confirm save and except as
to such Gifts Bequests and Legacies as may have lapsed 
since the making of my said within written last Will and
Testament And I do by this my Codicil further give and
bequeath unto William Warrington now or late of the 
City of Chester Esquire the sum of fifty pounds And whereas
in and by my said within written last Will and Testament I
have given and bequeathed unto Ann Place who now lives
with me the sum of twenty pounds I do hereby give and
bequeath unto the said Ann Place the further sum of fifty
pounds And I do hereby also give and bequeath unto Thomas
Sherwood of Cheapside London Linen Draper the sum of twenty
one pounds which said several sums of fifty pounds fifty
pounds and twenty one pounds I do hereby order and direct
shall be charged upon my personal Estate and payable
thereout in manner as the other Legacies my said within
written last Will and Testament are ordered and directed In
Witness whereof I have to this my Codicil set my hand and
seal this Third day of July in the year of our Lord One Thousand

published and declared by the above named Timothy Cockshutt
(the word ‘to’ in the fifth line the word ‘with’ in the ninth line and
the word ‘further’ in the tenth line being first Interlined) as and
for a Codicil to his said within written last Will and Testament
in the presence of us who at his request and in his presence
and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names
as Witnesses hereto Jerome Knapp/-/ W Wilson /-/.

This Will was proved at London with a Codicil the
twenty ninth day of March in the Year of Our Lord One
thousand seven hundred and eighty before the Worshipful 
Andrew Coltes Durard Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or
Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully
constituted by the Oath of Josias Cockshutt by mistake in the 
Will called Josiah Cockshutt the Surviving Executor named in 
the said Will to whom Administration was granted of all and
singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the deceased he
having been first sworn duly to Administer./-----
